Writing Challenge !

Planning:

On the weekend the Warriors played a game of Rugby in the sea , at a beautiful/tropical beach . They won the championship , their reward was a trophy !

Writing :

One sunny afternoon , the Warriors had a Rugby game at the tropical beach . It was also the final so they needed to work hard . Before the game , their coach gave them a little quote , “Success is not final , failure is not fatal , it is the courage to continue that counts” . They played in the water , which meant that they’d have to pump their legs to run faster . They were tied , 5 minutes left on the clock . The Warriors had won , they got the trophy because of how outstanding they were & the last try they got !

Information Report – Hippo

This is FIOP. Our writing task is another information report which is based on Hippos. I wrote about their habitat/diet, family/life, and conservation. I read a few articles about this and found some cool and interesting facts. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

The third largest land animal on earth and native to Africa, the Hippopotamus. This mammal lives on water and land, they live in the South Sarahan, Africa. They can stay underwater for five minutes. Hippos are mostly herbivorous and eat grass (about 35 kilograms) and fruits. Hippos have a large body, short legs, short tali, and a huge head. Hippos weight 1,400kg – 4,500kg and their height is 10.8 and 16.5 feet.

Hippos are in groups with 10 – 30 individuals in it. It is called a herd or bloat. The leader of the herd is a dominant male leader. The rest are females with their younger hippos. Females hippos (who are called called cows) give birth to baby hippos and gather up with other cows to protect their babies. They protect their babies and fight off the predators by splashing water and using their massive size as their advantage.

These hippos are not endangered yet but exposed to extinction. 115,000 – 130,000 hippos are still living in the wild. Due to their habitat loss and hunting, their population went down. Luckily the laws have been restricted and this helped the hippopotamuses population. They also live in protected areas in East African countries.

In conclusion, Hippopotamuses are mammals, water and land animals. They have a herbivorous diet. They stay in herds and have one male leader. East African countries have some protected areas for hippos.

Narrative – Writing Test

The Shipwreck – by Emeline 🙂

( Its kinda like anzac but a different way )

Introduction :

A whole group of people went fishing one afternoon so they could feed their very poor village. They went in an old , big boat . They gathered up old fishing rods , old nets , old but warm clothes , old buckets for the fish .

Problem & Solution :

They noticed a hole in the floor , the boat was filling up with water . They didn’t bring anything that could block the hole  . It was a stormy night so the boat was filling up higher than they expected .

Writing :

The village was very poor , they wore the same clothes everyday & could only eat 3 times a week (eats once a day , that’s it) . One afternoon , all the men gathered together and decided to go fishing . They gathered all the things they needed and set off with their big old/rusty boat . The men took hours & hours fishing , their children and wives were very worried . They were out till full moon , until one of the men noticed that the boat was filling up with water .  Then it started raining , the men did everything they could but the ship started sinking . Most of the men drowned & the others were badly injured because the ship flipped upside down . The next day , all the women went by the beach , saw their bodies and bits of the boat . They all cried and prayed that the men would make it , one by one they did CPR on their husbands . A few of them made it , their wives were very sad , especially their children . From that day forward no-one was allowed to fish .

Conclusion :

A few men were saved but badly injured , it was very depressing for those who lost their loved ones . In the end , they should’ve just gone hunting in the wild instead of fishing !
